Charging under CSU’s rules
CSU’s time-of-use pricing puts the peak at 5–9 pm on weekdays. Scheduling the car to charge overnight avoids that window. For solar customers on the new demand-charge option, charging at a lower amperage over more hours can keep your 15-minute peak down.
Garage and panel realities
Much of the Springs’ newer housing has attached garages close to the electrical panel, which keeps installs simple. Older homes may need a longer run or a panel upgrade; we check before quoting.
The federal home-charger credit ended for chargers placed in service after June 30, 2026, and we couldn’t find a current CSU charger rebate. Check CSU’s site before you buy.

It can, if you’re a solar customer on the demand-charge option and charge at full power alongside other big loads. Load-managed or lower-amperage charging helps.
Do I need a permit for an EV charger in Colorado Springs?
Yes, an electrical permit through Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. We pull it.
